FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Event Title
  • Event Description (tell us about the details of your event)
  • Event date(s) and start/end times
  • Event image (poster or photo less than 2MB in size – square is best!)
  • Venue details (name, address, phone number, website)
  • Organizer details (website, email phone)
  • Event website link (if applicable)
  • Event cost

Creating a user account through our website allows you to view and edit your submitted events. If you are an organization or individual who produces multiple events per year, we recommend that you create an account.

  • Art, food, nature, local heritage, health, or wellness are central to the event
  • Events must have a start and end (date/time)
  • The event is open to the public
  • The event takes place in the Southern Gulf Islands
  • In-person events
  • Online events must be by and for Southern Gulf Islands audiences
  • Fundraisers must support one of the listed focus areas.
  • Holiday/seasonal events
  • Examples include (but aren’t limited to) performances, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, festivals, guided walks, yoga retreats, film screenings, historical talks, and literary readings.
  • Events not taking place in the Southern Gulf Islands
  • Events that are retail in nature or that are part of the regular operations of a business (ie: restaurant serving local food, or company offering nature tours)
  • Private events or those only open to members
  • Events where the focus is religious or political action

If your event meets our criteria, your event will be published within 3 business days.

You can only edit the details of your submitted events if you have a user account through our website. If your event details have changed and you do not have an account, contact us with the updated information.

If you have an account, you can delete your event from your dashboard. If your event has been cancelled and you do not have an account, contact us and we will remove it. 

The file uploader on our event submission form accepts the following file types: .jpg, .png, .gif that are under 2MB in size. If your photo is not uploading, please check the file type and size.

If your event was not approved for publication on our website, it does not comply with our event criteria. You can read our full Event Criteria list here.

Not yet, but we are currently testing a ticketing option that will be available to users with a login. Contact us if this is something that you would be interested in.
